Standing for the Doctor

We have quickly discovered that a horse with a false leg has some special needs. We woke this morning to Ancale not wanting to walk. Knowing this was not like her, we immediately called the vet. He ran his hands over her, took her temp and other vitals, but everything seemed fine. She even nibbled at his shirt as she typically did. The vet stood back and thought with us.
"Lets put her in her sling," He said with confidence. We complied and strapped the mare into her sling. She allowed us to strap her up without a fight. She knew what the sling was, and had no problems with it.
The vet soon bent over and removed her false legs from her nubs. He smiled as he put one under his arm and fiddled with the other.
"Does she like to roll in puddles?" He asked. We all looked at Taiga. The fair woman nodded softly, then started to smile as she understood. The rest of us were clueless. The vet laughed slightly and pointed to the muddy ice in the groves of Ancale's false legs.
"No more rolling," He said as he looked at the frisky mare. The mare only nickered happily, clearly eager to move and go outside again.


Lazy background... But otherwise I love this image. It shows Ancale's patient side. She, like all EWHs, is very smart, and knows the sling is for good.
