The Celtic Twins

A few days have passed since Know had her foals. The vet has been at our stables multiple times working on the three. Know, that first day, got severely dehydrated, but has since been fine. The second day, the larger foal fell over and wouldn't get back up. Turns out he was dehydrated and hadn't been nursing. With some IV fluids then reteaching the baby how to nurse, he was soon full of energy. Then the third day, the smaller foal went down. She spent the night with the vet that night as he kept her warm, fed her and made sure she stayed hydrated. Her problem? Just too little. She was having issues reaching her mother to feed and staying warm.

Now it has calmed down. The smallest foal, a sweet little Filly, has figured out how to reach her mare to feed, and her brother is a typical terror of a colt. With it nice and warm outside still, the three stay out in the pasture. Link, the foal's grandfather, often comes to the fence to greet them and shows a great interest in them. We are starting to think that he will accept them into his heard.

The Filly, we have decided, will stay here at SoulFire. Her brother, when he is big enough, will go off to live with his sire at Cast Shadow Stables. But until then, they will grow and play here at Soul Fire and at the Elven Warhorse base.
